On February 14, 2010, Multi-Platinum Rhythm and Blues recording artist, Brian McKnight will grace the eyes and ears of Hawaii at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena, for a special Valentine’s Engagement! Mr. McKnight is an artist who sings sweet messages about love and romance. An artist who has brought so many hearts together and has also impacted people through philanthropy. “When I sing about love, when I sing about bringing people together and I heard of the chance to perform in Hawaii, why would I not want to jump at that chance! I mean c’mon! Let’s be for real!”

RED: February 14th is the day of romance and love. Its what you’ve been singing about for years, ever since you were a young child singing in the church choir. Its what you’ve been surrounded with and have poetically expressed through your lyrics. What can we expect from your Valentine’s concert?

McKnight: Every concert we do is geared towards people being together. If you don’t have someone, my music is designed to give you that feeling.

I think what you can expect from our show is that we always give 110%. With the recession and the way things are happening, the fact that people are still coming out, spending their money on concerts, I have to give my all for them.

RED: I hear you have special guests you’re bringing along. Who’s coming with you?
McKnight: Yes my kids are coming to Hawaii with me and will be performing here for the first time. Over the past couple of years, they’ve been on the road with me. It’s great to see how much music’s inside of them. I let them come on the show and do their thing. I’m such a proud father, man. My sons are taking advantage of their opportunities and running with it. I’m truly excited for them.

RED: What are some of the things you are looking forward during your stay with us?
McKnight: Golf! [he said without hesitation] Hawaii has some of the most beautiful courses in the world. I’m looking forward to coming back and enjoying the beautiful weather and playing some golf!

RED: What message would you like to send your fans?
McKnight: Anything we can all do especially when it comes to Haiti. They won’t reject even a small donation. They need us so much right now with everything that’s going on down there. It’s crazy because they needed our help before all of that but anything that you can do, will go a long way, trust me.
